The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kumawu Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has attended the send-off service for Rev. Emmanuel Boakye at the Oyoko Methodist Church in the Sekyere Kumawu District of the Ashanti Region.
The send-off service was held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Oyoko Methodist Church to celebrate Rev. Emmanuel Boakye and recognise his service to the church and the people of Oyoko during his six-year tenure as the minister in charge of the church.
Rev. Emmanuel Boakye has served the Oyoko Methodist Church for six years, during which he contributed to both the spiritual and physical development of the church and the wider community. His period of service was marked by his involvement in church activities, pastoral work and initiatives aimed at supporting the growth and development of the congregation.

In his address at the send-off ceremony, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim acknowledged the contribution of Rev. Boakye to the development of Oyoko. The Kumawu MP described the Reverend Minister as a person who had served faithfully and had played an important role in the community during his time at Oyoko.
According to Hon. Yaw Anim, Rev. Boakye’s dedication, guidance and fatherly role would be greatly missed by the people he had served. He commended the minister for the commitment he demonstrated throughout his six years at the Oyoko Methodist Church.
The MP expressed appreciation to Rev. Emmanuel Boakye on behalf of the people of the Kumawu Constituency for his selfless service. He also wished the Reverend Minister God’s blessings, strength and success as he prepares to begin his ministry at his new station.
The send-off service brought together members of the Oyoko Methodist Church, friends, family members, church leaders and other well-wishers who came to celebrate Rev. Boakye and express their appreciation for his service.
Rev. Emmanuel Boakye is also serving as the Diocesan Youth Organizer (DYO) of the Methodist Church, Effiduase Diocese. His involvement in youth activities has made him an important figure in the church’s efforts to engage and support young people within the diocese.
During his time at Oyoko, Rev. Boakye contributed to the spiritual life of the congregation through preaching, pastoral counselling, prayer, teaching and other church activities.
His six-year service therefore became an important chapter in the history of the Oyoko Methodist Church. The send-off ceremony provided an opportunity for members of the congregation and other stakeholders to reflect on his contribution and publicly express their gratitude.

The atmosphere at the ceremony was described as warm and memorable, with friends, loved ones, church members and other guests coming together to honour the outgoing minister. The gathering provided an opportunity for Rev. Boakye to interact with the congregation and those who had worked with him throughout his time at Oyoko.
In his remarks, Rev. Emmanuel Boakye thanked the members of the Oyoko Methodist Church and all those who attended the send-off service. He expressed his appreciation to everyone who honoured his invitation and joined the church in marking the end of his service at Oyoko.
He also appreciated the support and cooperation he received from the congregation during his six-year tenure. The support, he noted, had contributed to his ability to carry out his pastoral responsibilities and participate in the development of the church.
Rev. Emmanuel Boakye is expected to begin a new assignment at Kumawu Emmanuel Methodist Church as the Minister in Charge from October 1, 2026.
