The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kumawu Constituency, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim, has donated GH¢10,000 to support a community development project at Pepease in the Ashanti Region.
The cash donation forms part of efforts to support community-led development initiatives and assist residents in completing projects intended to improve conditions within the community. Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim is the Member of Parliament for Kumawu, according to the Parliament of Ghana.
Speaking briefly during the presentation, the Kumawu MP explained that the GH¢10,000 donation was specifically made to support the Pepease Community Project. He said the gesture was not the first time he had provided assistance to the community, noting that it was the second occasion on which he had supported Pepease.
Hon. Yaw Anim encouraged the people of Pepease to make effective use of the money and ensure that it contributes directly to the completion of the project. He urged the community members to remain focused and committed to the development initiative until the project is successfully completed.

According to the MP, community development requires the collective efforts of residents, traditional authorities, community leaders, government representatives and other stakeholders. He therefore commended the people of Pepease for taking the initiative to develop their community through self-help.
He acknowledged the commitment demonstrated by the people of Pepease and encouraged them not to lose sight of their development objectives. He noted that when community members take responsibility for projects and complement government and other forms of support, they can contribute significantly to improving their communities.
The donation is also consistent with the MP’s broader record of supporting development initiatives within the Kumawu Constituency. In previous interventions, Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim has supported education, community facilities and youth-oriented programmes.
Pepease is a community located within the Kumawu area and shares a boundary with Kwamang, which is in the Sekyere Central District. The location gives the community a connection with neighbouring communities across the district boundary, while residents continue to pursue initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure and development.
Hon. Yaw Anim assured the people of Pepease of his continued support towards development initiatives in the community. He stated his commitment to working to ensure that communities and towns within the Kumawu Constituency receive attention as development projects and needs arise.
The MP’s message also highlighted the importance of cooperation between community members and their representatives. While elected representatives can provide financial and other forms of assistance, successful community projects also depend on effective planning, proper use of resources and the commitment of local residents.

The people of Pepease are therefore expected to continue working together to ensure that the community project receives the necessary attention and is completed for the benefit of residents.
The GH¢10,000 donation represents another contribution towards the development efforts of Pepease and demonstrates the role that community self-help initiatives can play in complementing other development interventions.
Hon. Ernest Yaw Anim has represented the Kumawu Constituency in Parliament since his election in the 2023 Kumawu by-election.
